Learn More About International Bipolar Foundation
We partnered with The International Bipolar Foundation because of a man we met who was actually affected by Bipolar disorder. We learned about his story and struggles he went through and introduced us to IBPF. Its truly such an amazing organization and we are so proud to represent and raise awareness to end the stigma against Bipolar and mental illness.
The mission of International Bipolar Foundation is to improve understanding and treatment of bipolar disorder through research; to promote care and support resources for individuals and caregivers; and to erase stigma through education.
What is Bipolar?
About 5.7 million American adults, or about 2.6 percent of the population, age 18 and older in any given year, have bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in a person’s mood, energy, and ability to function. Different from the normal ups and downs that everyone goes through, the symptoms of bipolar disorder are severe. They can result in damaged relationships, poor job or school performance, and even suicide. But there is good news: bipolar disorder can be treated, and people with this illness can lead full and productive lives.
