Mauli Ola Surf Experience Day! Huntington Beach, CA
This past weekend, we had a bracelet-making day in Huntington Beach, CA with the Mauli Ola Foundation at one of their annual Surf Experience Days. Pro surfer, Teddy Navarro, hosted this Surf Experience day. It was so awesome to see families, pro surfers, and volunteers all come together for a day of fun in the sun.
Surf Experience days harness the healing powers of the ocean and introduce surfing and ocean-based activities as natural therapies. We are honored to share our knowledge of the ocean, family values, and community.
Before the event we packed up 60 packs of bracelet making kits for the kids to make their own bracelets at the event. The kits included blue and yellow Mauli Ola colored beads, copper Bead Relief tags, and string.
At the event, we taught the kids how to make their own bracelets and learned about Cystic Fibrosis and other types of genetic diseases that impact the lives of the kids and families who attend the Surf Experience days. The salt water from the ocean actually helps people with Cystic Fibrosis. A child told us that it helps break up their chest congestion preventing sickness.
After the kids finished surfing with the pros, they visited the Bead Relief booth. Here, they had the opportunity to design their own Mauli Ola themed bracelets! Some of the designs the kids made will be our inspiration when we design the Bead Relief Mauli Ola Bracelet. We are currently partnering with the organization and the bracelet will be available soon!
